COVID-19 Update | Latest WHO Update over Vaccine....Wait May end Soon!!!

Three vaccine candidates are in the clinical testing phase to roll out the vaccine as per the latest update of WHO.

As per Oxford Group in highly reputable Jenner Institute led by Sarah Gilbert, (worked on Ebola, Flu and MERS) vaccine for COVID19 will be ready by September.

The increasing worldwide spread of COVID-19 already killed more than 1, 10, 000 Peoples & infected more than 1.8 million people. The doctors among word are scrambling to develop Vaccine we all are eagerly waiting for getting Vaccine for COVID-19 to be developed. The questions are roaming in our mind like how long it will take for the development of such a vaccine.

Yesterday a list was issued by WHO which stated that there are 70 Candidates the racing against time to prepare the vaccine. As per the latest report issued by WHO, three vaccine candidates successfully reach in a clinical testing phase, while 67 potentials reached in the preclinical phase.

It means that these three candidates will start doing Clinical test over Humans for seeing results of newly prepared Vaccine.


Out of 3, 
OxfordCOVID-19 program (CanSino Biological Inc.) & Beijing Institute of Biotechnology (China) already started phase II clinical testing & started human testing from Sunday 12th April 2020 Itself 

The human testing is usually composed of three phases.  


Phase-I

In this phase, Trials are done at small-scale, usually involving about 100 participants, to assess whether the vaccine is safe for humans.

 Phase-II

In this phase, trials often involve several hundred subjects and mainly evaluate the efficacy of the vaccine against the disease. This phase can last from several months to several years.

Phase-III

This phase is on an even larger scale of thousands of people, often across several medical facilities, to further assesses the efficacy of the vaccine over a defined period. This phase can last for several years.


CanSino Biological Inc.) & Beijing Institute of Biotechnology (China) already reached in phase-II human testing.


In March, during an interview, Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme said a vaccine for coronavirus is "at least a year away"


However, Sarah Gilbert, a professor of vaccinology at Oxford University who is heading a UK team developing a vaccine, told the Global Times on Saturday that she was "80 per cent confident" their vaccine could be effective and ready by September - cutting the estimated time down to six months

A statement of Sarah gilbert is promising & positive.  As per the WHO latest release of a list of promising candidates for the Vaccine development Sarah gilbert led team is in one of three candidates who have entered into phase-II testing. So we can hope the Vaccine can be developed by September.
